Once Upon A Time The Super Heroes

The historical saga of American superheroes. Born in the period between the Great Depression and the WWII to combat the hobgoblins of the modern world, these mutant human beings with superhuman powers colonized the funny papers, radio dramas, TV and films, to become a truly national industry in the US. This fantastic story includes interviews with some of the biggest names in the industry: Stan Lee, John Romita, Neal Adams, Joe Kubert, Carmine Infentino, Lauren Shuler Donnet and Tim Burton. Superman, Batman, Spiderman and many others gave expression to the fears and obsessions of the 20th century and bolstered American ideals.
